Owen Malcolm Miyoshi
 
Owen Miyoshi, a second generation disciple of Arnold Jacobs, has been playing trumpet in the Bay Area for over fifteen years.
Mr. Miyoshi strongly believes in Jacobs' philosophy of song and wind and incorporates it into both his teaching and personal approach to playing.
Owen graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree.
He currently holds positions with both the Monterey Symphony and Santa Cruz County Symphony as well as the Farallon Brass Ensemble.
Mr. Miyoshi also keeps very busy subbing for a number of symphonies throughout the Bay Area including Symphony Silicon Valley.
In addition, he is the trumpet instructor and brass choir director for the music department at the University of California, Santa Cruz
since January 2002 as well as a brass coach and instructor for the Young Musicians Program since June 2001 at the University of California, Berkeley.
